Héy guys! I've been recently functioning on building my “do it aIl” rig.
l selected up a 1987 Schwinn Sierra for $80 that runs good (image I had taken above). It's an 18 swiftness and I've used it around the stop a few of moments now, and I'meters just going to order a fresh string before I ride any additional.
Today, I also discovered a 92-94 Travel Single Monitor 930 that I have scored for a whopping $40! (I drawn a few pictures of the same 930 I have got from the internet). It't a 21 acceleration, but it's not extremely ridable. The back again wheel is definitely bent, and it lacking a spoke. The back derailleur is also completely unresponsive when I try to change. The front derailleur works great. The brakes, chair, handlebars, are usually in bad situation. BUT for $40 the frame AND shell are in quite good condition!!
SO I've been thinking of just placing the 930 frame and hand onto my Siérra since everything operates fine. Will be this a great idea? I'michael more wanting to know about the drivétrain/cranks/bb heading on the Travel. And would this be generally simple to do?
Thanks men, this subreddit it awesome!

Pros:Made in USA frame, easy maintenance, lighting for steel frame.Cons:Made in Us frame, weakened fork, metal frame
Recommendation:For whát it's well worth, this bicycle obtained me out of the door and onto the trail, was light enoughto have back when tossed into the rocks, however when operating you are usually conscious that the bike could make use of a diet. I possess got my 930 for 12 years with just basic maintenance (until a stone demonstrated me a tale about the theory of how objects in movement are likely to stay in movement, stuff at relaxation, stay at relaxation. And in between, a broken yellow fork)
Pros:Fairly great all aróund mtb for thé period before suspension system.
Cons:previous college
Suggestion:The 930 had been a good trip for the earlier 90s. I rode this factor all over Company and UT. It has been originally targeted a little as well higher for the long climbs in CO, but that was simple to fix. Over the very first 5 seasons, I got destroyed/woreout almost everything. I even got destroyed the hand and frame. Travel waranteed the framé, and I upgraded to front suspension. I rode this matter until it got difficult to find parts in thé mid-late 2000s.
